Why? University of Mexico was founded almost one hundred years before Harvard. University of Vienna 300 years before Harvard.
Because some of the people at these institutions are ignorant. They have no clue about the prestige or value of a degree from one of these great Universities. They are often unable to read any language other than english and thus when they see your diploma in another language it scares them. You might have an "artium magister" or "litterarum humanorum doctor" and they don't know what that means.
But my degree is accepted at Harvard and University of Wisconsin why would these New Thought Educational Institutes be chauvinists about it? Once again, ignorance is the mother of stupidity. There are many wonderful universities outside of the states but they are ignorant
What can I do? Don't waste time on those institutes. If they are so ignorant that they don't accept your degree from University of Mexico or Vienna or some other National University, go University of Metaphysics in Arizona or New Thought University in New Zealand.
But that is not fair
That's right, in fact, it is ridiculous. But there are members of denominations outside of the United States who have to let go of that particular New Thought path and walk the talk through a different avenue. This is the nature of New Thought. Don't get stuck on the old thought, if your denominations is chauvinistic against your degree, move on to a different program, set up a new center in your city or town when you are done and begin supporting the transformation of Global Consciousness.
I can read and write English but I don't speak it so well ?
Don't worry about that. Programs out of New Zealand and Mexico are excellent programs. If you speak Spanish consider going to a New Thought program through a Mexican or South American ministry. Being mentored into ministry is a tradition in New Thought as it is in all legitimate spiritual paths. Just because you don't speak English does not mean that you cannot become a great New Thought minister and when you are done, you can set up your own Educational program and help others to realize that they don't need to travel north to become a New Thought minister.
