The only website connected to this former Divine Science Institute which was founded by no less than Nona Brooks, one of the founders of DivineScience, does not show much information on this institute. We tried calling several times but never got anyone on the phone.
It appears that this institute may have closed doors on its once powerful Divine Science program. According to research, it was doing quite well up to the 1990's. Interviews with former students reveal that at the close of the 20th Century it began to acquire an "academic bent" and suffered from some scandals.
Presently, the only website connected to this Institute reveals that they are looking for a new minister. This could mean that under new leadership this once amazing program could be revitalized.
Let's all hold it in consciousness that they find a spiritual leader who is living the consciousness and walking the talk. We are hoping that we will hear from someone soon who can give us the inside track on the current situation there. Online research reveals that the beautiful First Church of Religious Science building does not have a parking lot and that during the last 15 years was being used mainly as a community theater. If we can't get through on the phone some time, we will give you more up to date information.
A note of interest: One person sent us an email that this program began an intense LGBT focus under the leadership of a minister from Santa Fe, New Mexico. So perhaps that minister will lead this institution into the New Millennium with gusto and pizzaz.
